About Us
Speedy's Barbecue, Inc. was purchased by Roy Dunn and his cousin, the late Bud Dunn in 1970. The previous owner operated as "Speedy's Drive-In", which opened in 1963. In 1978 Roy's brother, Boyd Dunn, bought their cousin's interest in the business. They have together co-owned and operated the restaurant since that time.
We take great pride in our family owned business. Since our beginning, we have dedicated ourselves to the 3-Q's -- "Quality, Quantity, and Quick Service." Speedy's is one of the few restaurants that still offers "Curb Service" for your convenience. We have an average of 35 employees and our wait-staff is friendly and always willing to assist you with your order.
Speedy's was a participant in the first annual Lexington Barbecue Festival in 1984. We have continued this tradition as it brings hundreds of thousands of "Barbecue Lovers" to our city.
So come on over and enjoy one of our many delicious menu items. But you must always remember…bring a BIG appetite as we are known for our x-tra large portions of BBQ sandwiches, BBQ trays, and BBQ plates.
